Introduction
You’re scared of what is happening in the world right now
because of COVID-19.
Or, you tested for the corona
virus and it’s revealed that you have COVID-19 disease.
The news has shaken your faith in
God.
You think to yourself sometimes, “I
thought that God would use His immense power to prevent COVID-19 from
afflicting me. I am very disappointed that God has allowed this to happen to
me.”
Consequently, you have lost some of
the love you had for Jehovah. You don’t pray. You don’t read your Bible.
However, you feel deep inside you
that God is not done with you yet. And you don’t want to give up your
relationship with God.
What can you do to boost your faith so you can continue the
relationship?
Read John 3 V 16 Often
To Remind Yourself Of The Width Of God’s Love
When some Christians experience
tragedy, it is very easy for them to draw a mental picture of a stern,
unfeeling, unconcerned, and cruel God. That can make it easy for doubts to take
over the mind because one may feel that God does not care about his or her
situation.
If you are one of such Christians,
read John 3 v 16 often and reflect on it as you go about your daily duties.
Why?
The Secret Of This Verse
That verse will remind you that:
·
God
sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross because He loved men including you;
·
that
the mainspring of the being of God is love;
·
that
at the back of everything there is the love of God.
What To Do
As you read the verse
·
consider
that it was the world that God so loved;
·
remind
yourself that it was not a nation, it was not the good people, it was not only
people who loved Him; it was the world that God loved;
·
use
some time to mull over the fact that it was the unlovable and the unlovely, the
lonely who have no one else to love them, the man who loves God and the man who
never thinks of God and spurn the love of God—all are included in this vast
inclusive love.
How This Verse Can Help You
It will help you to appreciate the
depth and width of God’s love for you better as an individual.
That will make God’s goodness and willingness to save you from COVID-19 feel
more real to you and you will find it easier to trust Him.
Affirm Portions Of The
Bible And Write Those Portions In Your Journal Often
Faith is strengthened when we
·
hear
the word of God;
·
recollect
it often; and
·
think
about it.
God’s word reminds one that what he
thinks is unachievable is achievable because God can do all things.
My Personal Experience
This happens to me regularly. When I
remember some of God’s promises amidst negative thoughts and doubts, I feel
strengthened spiritually and my faith grows stronger.
But how can you remember God’s word
often?
What To Do
·
Recall
faith Bible verses. If you don’t read your Bible often, you may begin with
Isaiah 41:10.
·
Affirm
those Bible verses aloud.
·
Listen
attentively to what you are saying as you make the affirmations; and then
·
write
some of those verses throughout the day into your journal.
This Is Backed by Science
According to a study done by
neuropsychologists, when one writes as he or she listens to something, the
following happens: spatial relationships are created in the brain and that
makes it easier for one to remember what he or she heard.
In other words, when you choose to
write Bible verses as you say them, instead of just reading them, you will put
some thought into evaluating those Bible verses and ordering those Bible verses
in your mind.
The result?
That will help to fix those Bible verses very firmly in your
mind and ,consequently, you will be able to remember it often throughout the
day.
Fast And God Will Give
You Revelations That Will Boost Your Faith
Paul’s Story
In Acts 27, there was a severe storm that made
Paul and the other prisoners who were on a ship that was taking them to Rome to
lose all hope of living.
However, after Paul fasted, God’s
angel revealed to him that he and the other prisoners would not die in the
storm. That boosted Paul’s faith.
So, do intermittent fasts from time
to time.
God will give you revelations that will encourage your heart
and make you know that He is with you all the way through this period of COVID-19 and that can make it easier
for you to release doubts and fears.
Wait On God
In Isaiah 40 v 29, the
Bible says, “He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might
He increases strength…they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings like eagles…”
In other words, when you wait upon God
expectantly, He will renew the spark of faith and help you to become a faith
giant again so that the COVID-19 pandemic will not scare you.
How do you wait upon God?
·
Tell
God verbally that you are waiting upon Him to increase your faith. You may say
something such as this, “LORD, I am waiting upon You to renew my faith. Please
speak to me! Please light the faith fire in me again!”
·
Listen
to faith sermons based on the faith chapter (Hebrews 11) constantly throughout
every day.
Praise God Throughout
The Day
Praising God will make the Holy
Spirit rejuvenate your spirit so that you will find it easier to believe.
Furthermore, praising God helps you
to keep your focus on Him. That will prevent you from focusing too much on your
doubts.
The result?
You will be more aware of God’s
power than the doubts.
So, throughout each day, say something such as this, “I will
praise You LORD for You have triumphed victoriously over Your enemies, over our
enemy COVID-19. LORD, You are my strength and my song. I exalt You, LORD, for
You have been a help in time of trouble in the past and I know You will save
me. Your right hand, O LORD, is glorious in power and it shattered problems in
the past and I know it will shatter this problem too. I praise You for my life.
I praise You that You have provided my needs in the past and I know You will continue
to provide my needs. Blessed be Your Name from now and forever more.”
Pray For More Faith
In Mark 9 v 23, a man of weak faith came to Jesus
with a problem and said to Jesus that if Jesus could, He would help him solve
his problem.
And then Jesus said to the man, “If
I can! All things are possible to him who believes.” Subsequently, the man
acknowledged his weak faith and implored Jesus to help him solve his problem by
saying, “I believe; help my unbelief!”
In other words, the man asked Jesus
(prayed to Him) to give him more faith.
God expects you to do this too. He
commands us to pray about everything in Philippians 4 v 6.
So, you may say a prayer such as this one often, “Father, I
glorify Your Name for the mercies that You have so graciously poured out on me
day after day for all these years. May You be exalted and magnified in all the
Earth and may Your kingdom grow. Father, I am having doubts about making it
through this COVID-19 pandemic safely. LORD, You are the God of miracles. I
believe You are the God who made the fearful, wonderful human body from dust. I
believe You are the God who rained down manna from heaven. You are the God who
helped the widow to get out of debt. I believe You are the God who brought
water out of rock. However, I am having doubts because of the challenges that I
am facing because of the corona virus scare and COVID-19. Please strengthen my
faith. Amen.”
Points to Remember
If you want to boost your faith to
help you stay sane during this COVID-19 pandemic

read
John 3 v 16 often;

portions of the Bible and write them to help you recall God’s word throughout
each day;
·
fast
intermittently; and
